December 2006   Proof that word-of-mouth is good for something... especially in a small village! In a surprising move, a friend of my father who happens to be a member of a local cycling team, approached my father in a local pub on behalf of the team to ask for my design talent - on tap! The friend -- Andrew Bennett -- has indirectly approached me for the design of a new cycling outfit for the team.   The team would like to keep their existing identity colours, but would like these to be combined in a pattern that brings out the best of the cycling team when reproduced on the bodies of those out on the bikes. I have been asked therefore to produce a head-to-toe blueprint for a completely new cycling outfit, adhering to the existing colour scheme.   If an agreement is reached, this project will be the first graphic design project that I will undertake for a garment. Fashion design will certainly be an exciting addition to the ever-widening portfolio of JSD - watch this space for further developments in the negotiation of this rather unique design project.
